This research-based workshop explores how dancers and artistic athletes can prevent injury. Concepts include the science of pain, strength training, managing load, and self-care. Learn how to incorporate these ideas into your training and ultimately reduce your risk of injury! Feel free to bring a water bottle and notebook to this workshop.
About Rachelle Berg
Rachelle completed a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy at University of Alberta in 2020.
She is a Registered Physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta. She has
continued to prioritize education throughout her physiotherapy practice and has attended
several courses aimed at enhancing her practice including: Plinth to Podium [by ORKA
Performance], Level I Teacher Training [by Perfect Form Physiotherapy], Level II Pointe Intensive
[by Perfect Form Physiotherapy], and Level II Flexibility Intensive [by Perfect Form
Physiotherapy].
Rachelle started dancing at Crossings when she was 5 years old. She was a member of Corps
Bara Youth Dance Company for 7 years. Rachelle completed her Advanced I RAD Ballet Exam
and her Advanced I ISTD Modern Exam. She continued dancing with Crossings until 2021,
resulting in over 20 years of dance experience!
Combining her love of dance and physiotherapy has long been her passion. Providing
physiotherapy to dancers is the culmination of many years of dancing, education and dreaming.
