Aerial Hardware 101: How to not get yelled at by people on the internet:
Comment sections on the internet are not the place to get rigging advice, so this session's goal is to help aerialists choose the correct and rated equipment for your rigging. As most aerialist don't start their artistic journey thinking about their hardware, the rigging or the loads they are imparting onto a structure, the goal is to demonstrate correct, safe selection, and approved usage. What does ultimate breaking strength, design factor, characteristic or peak load mean? If participants want to bring in their current hardware, we can have a look at it, discuss considerations for use as well as use load cells to see what forces may be at play. We will also discuss when it is time to retire your worn gear and how to do that safely.
